Peles Salon & Spa is locally owned and operated and has been in business for more than 40 years across two generations. The Johnstown location is the original salon, and the Greensburg salon sits on Route 30 near the Westmoreland mall. Each salon serves guests from the surrounding towns in its area.

Hair services begin with a complimentary consultation, and color, cut and texture work is quoted before anything starts. The menu covers cuts, shampoo and style, color, blonding, balayage, ombre, toning and glossing, along with Botanical Therapy treatments for dry and damaged hair. Waves, relaxers, thermal straightening, Supersilk smoothing, blowouts, updos and iron work are also offered. Human hair extensions are applied by keratin strand-by-strand bonding or custom designed after a consultation, and tape-in extensions are a lower-priced option that can be reused. Aveda Organic Color is the hair color used at both locations.

The skin side includes customized facials, a complimentary skin analysis with one of the estheticians, and PCA Skin Care peels for acne, aging skin, hyperpigmentation, rosacea and sensitive skin. Signature facials include a treatment mask, serums, extractions, and a hand and foot treatment with heated booties and mittens. Peel alternatives such as dermaplaning and oxygenating treatments are also available. Lash extensions come in classic, volume, hybrid and mega volume sets, and are precurled, waterproof and fume-free with a medical grade adhesive. Waxing covers most of the body, and makeup services include Aveda makeup application and bridal work. Most hair, spa, lash and waxing prices are not posted online, so guests are asked to call.

According to the salon, it has been covered in international publications, on magazine covers and on television, and it has picked up numerous local and national awards. The salon also reports that HairShow Magazine recently gave it a Top Global Salon ranking. It holds membership in Intercoiffure, an organization the salon says honors the country's top one percent of salons.

The salon aims to tailor each visit to the guest's hair, skin and body, using Aveda and PCA product lines.
