The business was started in Concord, Ohio, in 2005 by co-owners Oscar Flynn and Jennifer Flynn, and the Concord salon is the original location. The first apprentices completed the salon's two-year training program in 2006. In 2008 the Concord salon expanded into the space next door to offer full-service options, and in 2016 Sophia Boutique, a shop selling womenswear, shoes, accessories, home decor and wellness goods, opened at the same site.

The Chagrin Falls salon opened in 2017 in a century home in downtown Chagrin Falls. The business later bought its own building in the same downtown, renovated it, and moved in during June 2022.

Services differ somewhat between the two salons. Both offer hair services, nail services, hair removal and permanent makeup. Concord also offers massage and sunless tanning, and its hair and nail menus include some options Chagrin Falls does not list. Hair prices are a starting point that can change with hair length and condition, the stylist's experience and how complex the service is, and prices exclude sales tax. Hair color is priced by service and does not include a haircut or blow-dry unless booked as a combined service.

Every visit includes complimentary beverages, and robes or smocks are provided. Appointments can be changed up to 24 hours ahead. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged 30% of the booked services at the next visit, no-shows are charged the full scheduled cost, and guests with three no-shows are limited to walk-in service. Tips are accepted in cash or check, and Venmo and CashApp are also options.

Focuses on guest comfort and a genuine connection with clients rather than glitz and glamour, and places a serious commitment on long-term hair health.
