The name is the Italian word for gold, and the salon says its mission is to offer the gold standard in hair and spa services. The salon says it has been voted Readers' Choice number one hair salon in Stoneham nine years in a row. Owner Leida Capone is an esthetician who worked as a spa manager and esthetician before becoming owner, and she brought earlier business-sector experience to the role. Hair appointments begin with a conversation about the client's needs, and the cut and style are shaped around facial structure, personal style and daily life.

Booking is done online. Cancellations are free up to 24 hours before the appointment, and later cancellations are charged half of the scheduled cost. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday with different hours each day and is closed Monday and Sunday. Waxing and other prices may change, and bridal services should be booked four to six months ahead, with pricing varying by location and style.

Hair services are tailored to each client, based on facial structure, fashion sense and lifestyle after discussing their needs. According to the salon, its stylists and estheticians continue their education to keep up with current trends.
