Orchid Day Spa

Orchid Day Spa is a day spa in Coronado. It works by appointment only and is open seven days a week from 9:30 am to 9 pm.

The massage menu covers three styles, each priced by session length: Deep Tissue, Swedish and Shiatsu start at $55 for 30 minutes and reach $145 for 120 minutes. Deep Tissue works into the deeper muscle layers to loosen knots and ease pressure points, and the business says it suits athletes and people who spend long periods sitting. Swedish is meant to ease muscle tension and support flexibility and blood flow. Shiatsu applies varied, rhythmic pressure along acupressure points.

Foot reflexology uses hand, thumb and finger techniques on areas of the feet that are believed to correspond to parts of the body, in sessions from 30 to 90 minutes. The Body Scrub is offered in 30 or 60 minute sessions and uses polished walnut shells blended into a citrus cream base to cleanse and exfoliate the skin.

Treatments rely on hands-on pressure and touch, from deep muscle work and acupressure to reflexology on the feet.
