About

Opulence Wellness Spa opened to the public in February 2018 under the ownership of Marissa Pittman, a master esthetician who worked at other skin care businesses before starting her own. The spa is on the courtyard side of its building on East San Antonio Drive in Long Beach.

Services are booked by appointment only, through the website, by phone or by email. Hours run Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. Gift cards are available, and payment can be made by cash, credit card or Apple Pay. The spa also offers a military discount.

Facial options range from the Teen Training Facial, which includes a home care plan and communication with guardians and teens, to The Opulence Facial, which Marissa Pittman created and adjusts step by step to the skin on the day. Peels include the PCA Peel, for which the spa states it is a certified provider, and the Perfect Peel. HydraFacial and micro-channeling round out the skin treatments.

Massage choices include the Opulent Massage, a Swedish-style session with moderate pressure suited to first-time clients, the Transformation Massage with deep pressure and hot stones on the back, the Himalayan Salt Stone Massage with hand-carved stones and pure jojoba oil, and a Mother To Be Massage. Scalp and foot massages are also available.

The Opulence Passport Package is priced at $100 and includes three 30-minute services on separate days: a classic European facial, a Swedish back and shoulder massage, and a stretch and flexibility session. Any of these can be upgraded to 60 minutes for $20 at checkout. The membership program offers seven plans for classic spa services. Memberships require a six-month commitment, fees are due at the start of each month and renew automatically, and members can cancel with 30 days' notice. The business describes its membership packages as affordable.

The spa centers on helping each client make self-care a regular part of their routine.
