Opaque Nail Studio was founded by Pam and works by appointment only, so walk-ins and same-day requests are not accepted. New clients are booked as availability allows, with a waitlist offered when the studio is full. Requests for new client appointments can be made through online booking at any hour, and the studio can also be reached by phone or text.
Every visit begins with a New Client Session, which lasts up to three hours and is used to look at the nails, talk through goals and set up a personalized plan. Nail art, extensions, extensive removal and other detailed work may need a separate appointment after that first visit. The studio does not combine sessions into longer appointments or use one in place of a higher-level session.
Booking requires a non-refundable deposit made online, which is applied toward the total. Changes made with at least 48 hours notice can move the deposit to a future visit if it is used within 30 days. Cancellations, reschedules and no-shows with less than 48 hours notice are charged the full service amount, and repeated cancellations or lateness may lead to future bookings being declined.
The studio does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and refers clients to professional care when needed. When its schedule does not fit a client's needs, it refers them to other Portland-area nail salons and technicians. Care is based on the condition of the nails and skin rather than age, and there is no separate children's menu. Prices are fixed, all sales are final, and gratuity is neither accepted nor required.
Works from each client's individual needs and shares nail care education along the way, with service time set by the care required rather than a fixed rush.
