OPAL ESTHETICS

Opal Esthetics is a one-person skincare business run by licensed esthetician Brittany. The practice is based in Queens and works with Dermalogica products throughout its treatments.

Visits begin with an assessment of skin concerns, lifestyle and goals, and each treatment is adjusted to the client's skin type. First-time clients book a consultation before a facial or peel. The consultation is a 30-minute targeted session that cleanses, hydrates or brightens the skin, and it costs $70.

The Customized Facial ($110) combines deep cleansing, exfoliation, massage and a mask chosen for the client's skin needs. The Treatments group covers the Chemical Peel ($120), a professional-grade peel with prep, post-care and home-care guidance, and Microneedling ($150), a 90-minute session that includes a peel, numbing, microneedling, post-care and take-home aftercare.

Clients may notice mild redness, flaking or sensitivity for a few days after a peel or microneedling, and aftercare guidance and sample products are provided. Before microneedling, clients are asked to stop retinol, exfoliants and vitamin C for at least three to five days and to limit sun exposure.

Mobile appointments travel to a client's home, hotel, event or chosen location, and use the same professional products and equipment as the in-suite treatments. A travel fee may apply depending on distance.
