Oh Waxing Studio

The studio says its owner and waxer has been a licensed esthetician since 2000, and that its waxing specialists have more than twenty years of experience. The studio describes its waxing as an art form.

The studio uses Australian hot waxes applied at a low temperature, with a very pliable wax.

The studio also teaches waxing courses taught by Angela Kim. An Advanced Brazilian course at $600 focuses on speed, aiming to complete a Brazilian wax in under 15 minutes. A Manzilian course at $500 covers performing a Manzilian wax in 15 to 20 minutes and recommends Manzilian products. Enrollment requires a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician, or a student enrolled in school for licensing.

Hours are Tuesday to Friday 10am to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. Sunday hours are 1pm to 5pm by appointment only, and Monday hours are not listed. Appointments are recommended, and walk-ins are accepted based on availability.

The studio publishes preparation and aftercare guidance. Clients are asked to keep hair about 0.5cm long and not shave for three weeks before waxing, and to skip lotions, creams and deodorant on the day. Chemical exfoliants and drying products such as retinol, AHA and BHA should be stopped at least a week before. The studio asks clients to wait at least one year after Accutane before waxing. After a session, it advises lukewarm water instead of hot showers for 48 hours, avoiding chlorinated pools, saunas, spa baths and sun exposure for 24 hours, avoiding sweat-heavy exercise for 48 hours, and avoiding topical lotions for 12 hours. It also suggests gentle exfoliation of waxed areas every two to three days afterward to help prevent ingrown hairs.
