Off the Avenue

Off the Avenue is a small salon that is family owned and operated and independently owned. Its stylists work as independent contractors, so the team is made up of individual professionals rather than employees on a shared schedule. Each stylist sets their own specialties, hours and price list, which means clients can choose a stylist whose work and availability suit them.

Clients can book through an online portal powered by Vagaro. Stylists who are not listed in the portal can be reached directly by phone or text. The salon is open Monday through Saturday from 8AM to 8PM, which leaves room for evening and Saturday visits.

The salon's services cover haircuts, hair color, hair extensions, special event styling, keratin and Brazilian blowout treatments, and nail services. Stylists handle the work at their own stations, so the range of skills varies from one professional to the next.

Stations are rented to licensed cosmetologists, with part-time and full-time options on a month-to-month lease. Rent covers shampoo, back bar, towels, Wi-Fi, utilities, and coffee and water for the stylist and clients. Renters have 24/7 access with an alarm code and key, and each gets a locking cabinet at their station and one in the dispense room. Rent incentives are available to help lower costs.
