Outside of salon hours, the room is opened for fundraising, mutual aid, musical performances and craft nights.

Services are grouped into haircuts, signature color packages named The Allover through The Bold Blonde, maintenance color for root touch-ups and regrowth, color correction billed hourly, extensions, and blowouts. Stylists set their own prices, and the listed amounts are starting rates. A consultation fee is waived when the service is booked at the end of the consultation appointment.

Booking is handled with some firm policies. Appointments should be canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours ahead to avoid a 50% fee. Same-day changes and no-shows are charged in full. A credit card holds each appointment and is charged only for changes made outside the cancellation policy. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may lead to the appointment being modified or rescheduled at the stylist's discretion, with a fee. Walk-ins are sometimes possible but not guaranteed, so calling or texting ahead is recommended. Adjustments are offered within two weeks if requested within three days, with the original stylist; major changes not discussed at the original consultation are not included.

Getting there: the B62 Manhattan/Calyer bus stops nearby, the G train stops at Greenpoint Ave, and the L train at Bedford Ave and the India St. Ferry are about a 20-minute walk. Street parking is possible but not guaranteed.
