The business builds its work on continual education and professional development. It runs an in-salon training program for entry-level assistants that covers customer service, consultation, cutting, coloring and product knowledge. It has a long-standing relationship with L'Oréal Professional, and it sells both salon and spa products, along with gift cards that can be bought online.
Design services include a complimentary consultation, and color consultations ($30, 30 minutes) and extension consultations ($75, 60 minutes) are waived when the service is done the same day. Facial consultations ($30) are waived the same way. Extensions and corrective or transformative color require a consultation before service, and extensions also require a signed consent form. Prices and service times can vary by provider.
Several services include small extras. Color services and HydraFacial and facial services include a complimentary blow dry, cosmetic makeup services come with a gift bag, and nail services at South Hadley include a complimentary aromatherapy steam shower.
Massage is offered only at the South Hadley location, in Ochoa Signature, Ochoa Deep Tissue and Ochoa TMJ Cranial styles, in 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions. Couples or friends can book a shared massage in the multiple guest treatment room.
Bridal clients can book consultations and styling for hair and makeup, with bridal inquiries handled by email at bridal@ochoaforhair.com. Bridal consultations are $175 and bridal styling and makeup application are $250.
