Obsessed W/ Colors is a small nail studio run by its owner, Alexandra Molnar, who opened the boutique in the second half of 2023. The studio sits on the ground floor of Phenix Salon Suites in Avalon Walnut Creek, a short walk from the Pleasant Hill / Contra Costa Centre BART station. Street parking is available nearby, and the attached public garage offers free parking for up to 2 hours, with a flat $5 daily fee paid by app or website after that.

The menu is built around gel and acrylic work. Main services include gel manicures, natural nail overlays using hard gel or acrylgel, structured manicures with soft gel, sculpted nails, and extreme shapes. Sculpted nails come in round, almond, square, soft square and tapered square or coffin shapes. Extreme shapes include stiletto, gothic almond, pipe, competition square, Russian almond and edge styles, and start at $300 with the price based on shape and sculpting time.

Add-ons cover color or effect overlays, several tiers of nail art from quick designs to complex work, crystals sold per 10 pieces, repairs for up to 3 missing nails, and removal of nails applied by another technician. Repairs cover accidents and lifted nails, and are not done over an open wound until it has healed.

Booking works by approval: appointments can be made up to one month ahead, and each one is reviewed by hand, with the salon contacting clients to confirm details before the visit is final. No deposit is taken, but a card must be kept on file. Only card payments are accepted. Cancellations made 48 hours or more ahead are free, cancellations within 48 hours are charged half the agreed fee, and cancellations within 2 hours or no-shows are charged the full fee. Clients are asked to arrive with bare nails, to set phones aside during the appointment, and to cancel if they are unwell.

Each booking is reviewed personally, and the salon works to meet each client's own needs.

The owner's competition trophies are displayed on an accent wall in the studio.
