NYB Beauty is a salon on Tweedy Boulevard in South Gate, open Tuesday through Friday from 11 am to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. It offers skin care, eyelash extensions and hair extensions.

On the skin care side, BB Glow is a semi-permanent facial that uses nano needling to place tinted BB cream into the upper layer of the skin. The business presents it as one of the newer anti-aging treatments from South Korea, and it is offered to women only. Microneedling uses a 36-pin cartridge to create tiny micro wounds, which the business says prompts the skin to produce collagen. A numbing cream is applied first. The business lists microneedling as suited to acne scars, active acne, expression lines, open pores and flaccid skin.

Hair extension installation takes about two hours and is priced at $250. Clients are asked to arrive with clean, dry hair. A $100 deposit is charged when the appointment is booked, and the balance is paid on the day of service.

For lashes, extension removal costs $25 and takes up to 30 minutes. A gel softens the glue, and the lashes are then cleaned of any remaining gel remover. The price may change if the lashes are being removed from another salon. NYB also runs an eyelash extension workshop covering classic and volume styles. It is priced at $1,500, takes seven hours and includes a kit.
