About

Nutima was founded by Danielle Miller, a naturopathic doctor, and is based in Edmonds. The practice is built on four values: patients taking responsibility for their own health, respect and integrity, practitioners continually updating their skills, and staff taking part in their communities. The practice describes itself as a state-of-the-art integrative medical practice offering current advances in naturopathic medicine.

Care is tailored to each person's biochemistry, medical history and health goals, with the aim of finding and treating underlying causes of illness rather than only symptoms. Practitioners can draw on an herbal medicine dispensary, therapeutic injections, intravenous micronutrient therapy, supplements, hydrotherapy, nutritional assessments and advanced testing. The practice keeps a referral network of physicians and specialists and collaborates with or refers to them when needed.

The first appointment is in-depth and comprehensive. Patients complete intake forms online through the patient portal, ideally 48 hours beforehand, and are asked to bring recent lab work and imaging, relevant medical notes, current supplement and prescription bottles, and a list of symptoms and questions. Natural cardiology visits run 50 to 75 minutes. Telemedicine visits are open to new and returning patients and can address new or existing conditions, lab orders and results, specialist and imaging referrals, and review of medications and supplements, with supplements and tinctures sent to the patient's home afterward. The practice states that a telemedicine visit can accomplish the same things as an in-person visit.

The practice does not bill insurance directly. It provides a Superbill at the appointment for patients to submit for reimbursement, and coverage depends on the patient's plan, which they should verify with their insurer. Labs, imaging and prescriptions ordered by the doctor may be covered according to plan benefits. Services qualify for HSA/FSA payment, and HSA/FSA, cash, debit and credit cards are accepted, but checks are not. Pricing estimates are available by phone, and an itemized, updated menu of services and prices can be requested on request. New patient visits are billed in full at booking and are non-refundable, while other appointments are paid at the time of service. Cancelling within 48 business hours or missing an appointment incurs a charge of the full scheduled visit, payable before another appointment can be booked.

Takes a patient-centered, functional approach that accounts for each person's biochemistry and history, aiming to address root causes rather than symptoms.
