Nonpareil Cosmetics is a lash and beauty business on The Hill in Saint Louis. Clients book through its GlossGenius site, where the menu covers brow work, lash extensions, lash lifts, lash removal and occasion makeup.

Lash extensions are customized. Curl and length are chosen to suit the client's face and preferences, and bottom lashes can be added. A full set takes at least two hours, and a fill takes at least 45 minutes. A fill only goes ahead if at least 40 percent of the existing extensions are still intact; otherwise a new full set is needed. A new full set is also needed after six to eight fills.

Other services include a lash lift that uses a silicone rod and gentle glue to lift and curl natural lashes. It takes about 45 minutes, requires a 20-dollar deposit and can include an optional tint for darker lashes. The business lists the lift as lasting six to eight weeks, though results may vary. Removal takes 30 minutes and requires a 10-dollar deposit. Boss Brow starts at 10 dollars and takes at least 25 minutes, with an optional free tint. The Crown starts at 45 dollars and takes at least an hour; hair should be washed beforehand, and no added hair is included. Glam is a makeup service for special occasions, starting at 50 dollars.

Booking notes: weekend appointments are available on request. Appointments before 8 AM or after 7 PM carry a 20-dollar convenience fee. A free touch-up is offered for visible gaps up to three days after the appointment. Any appointment not performed at the shop carries a 40-dollar add-on. No-shows and cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment are charged a 20 percent fee. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from 50 to 4,000 dollars, with approval needed before the appointment. Gift cards come in 50, 75, 100 or 200 dollars, or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final.
