The Spa at NIMA is the spa side of the NIMA Institute, an aesthetics training school with campuses in South Jordan, Utah, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The Utah and Nevada campuses are subsidiaries of Medspa Academies, LLC. That same parent company also oversees two other institutes: the National Institute of Medical Aesthetics and the National Institute of Modern Aesthetics.

The institute was founded by Matt and Carrie Brinton in 2009 to fill a gap in esthetics education. The Brintons also created Elase Medical Spas, which the site describes as a chain with more than 20 locations nationwide. The stated mission is to create career opportunities for students by drawing on retail industry experience to offer customized, hands-on education and business strategy.

Injectable and HydraFacial visits begin with a consultation to confirm the treatment suits the client. Free consultations are offered before Botox and dermal filler, and an estimate for filler is given at that visit because cost depends on the product chosen and the number of syringes needed. Injections are performed by certified medical professionals. Botox sessions take no more than 15 minutes, according to the site, with results said to appear within 48 to 72 hours and last about 2 to 4 months. Dermal filler results are said to last 1 to 2 years, depending on the amount used, metabolism and maintenance. HydraFacial has no downtime, so clients can return to normal activity right after.

Spa services are performed by supervised students, and gratuities are appreciated. Guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, since appointments more than 10 minutes late may be rescheduled, and rescheduling requires a phone call at least 24 hours ahead. Children are asked to stay home during spa visits, and phones should be silenced. Membership offers exclusive pricing on services and products and triple loyalty points on select purchases.
