Medical pedicures are the signature service. They are polish-free, dry pedicures focused on the hygienic and aesthetic care of the toenails and soles, take about an hour and cost $100. The same service is also known as a waterless pedicure, dry pedicure, medi-pedi or medicure. It is aimed at athlete's foot, corns, calluses, dry and cracked heels, ingrown or overgrown toenails, nail fungus and discoloration. Toenail restoration, which rebuilds nails affected by fungus, nail dystrophies or trauma using a patented resin, is available as an add-on.
The menu also includes spa-style manicures and pedicures built on soaking, shaping, buffing, light sloughing and massage, along with a gel manicure that uses a soft gel overlay without soaking. Polish is offered in several forms, including changes, removal, nail art and silk or fiberglass nail wraps priced per nail for strengthening natural nails and mending splits.
The business travels to clients' homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Individual mobile appointments are for homebound clients who need a medical pedicure and carry a $25 travel fee. Groups of 10 or more can book mobile services at senior centers, retirement homes and assisted-living facilities.
Nika's Nails Inc. is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and the business provides free foot care to people in need who cannot afford it. Appointments must be booked at least 48 hours ahead and cancelled with at least 24 hours notice. A 15-minute grace period applies before a no-show can be cancelled. First-time clients have a consultation before their appointment and should share important health concerns. Only one guest is allowed in the suite during service, clients' own tools are not accepted, and clients are asked not to shave 24 hours before a pedicure. Tools are cleaned after each use and sterilized in an autoclave, and disposable supplies are used.
The business describes its philosophy as centered on healing and wellness, with natural ingredients and essential oils. Its services are for appearance and do not treat nail disease, so clients needing that care are referred to a dermatologist or podiatrist.
