A first visit starts with an assessment of skin, acne type, history, current routine and past treatments, and ends with a home-care and treatment plan. The practice uses a four-phase program: assessment, clearing, stabilization and maintenance. During clearing, the plan addresses oil, dead skin buildup and bacteria together, and may include professional extractions, gentle corrective exfoliation or peels. Clients who enroll get their first acne treatment the same day, complimentary with enrollment. According to the practice, committed clients typically see clearing within about 12 to 16 weeks, though it does not guarantee specific results or timelines.
Before a treatment, clients should stop tretinoin and all other retinols at least 5 days ahead. Anyone taking Accutane (isotretinoin) should wait at least 6 months after their final dose before starting the program. Doxycycline can continue during treatment, though the practice notes it is not necessary.
The before and after photos on the website were taken at The Acne Treatment Center in Vancouver, Washington, not at this Texas practice. Appointments are by appointment only and visits are one-on-one.
