About

New Leaf Electrolysis is an electrolysis clinic run by owner and electrologist Christine Howard. The office is in a professional building with four suites, about a half mile north of I-30 in Rockwall, and it is set up as a quiet space with no busy lobby. A small waiting area is available for a guest who is waiting during an appointment.

Electrolysis is the clinic's focus. Hair is removed manually, one hair at a time, using a probe and forceps, and the clinic uses only insulated probes. It can treat most areas where hair grows, but not mucous membranes such as the inside of the nose or ear. Hair in or around moles can be treated with a note from a doctor or dermatologist confirming the mole is safe to treat, and tattooed skin can be worked on or near. More than one area can be treated in the same appointment, and the treatment schedule is set during the consultation.

Prospective clients can book a free consultation by calling 469-343-8365 or emailing newleafrockwall@gmail.com, or by leaving a message with their name, number and treatment areas. Hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the office closed Friday and Saturday. Clients who cancel within 48 hours of an appointment are charged a $50 fee. Pricing is pay-as-you-go, with no packages and no tipping.

The business describes itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. It is a member of the American Electrology Association and the Texas Association of Professional Electrologists, and it follows AEA Infection Prevention Standards. Clients must have reached puberty and be mature enough for treatment, and minors must have an adult present. Children are asked not to come along because the treatment rooms are not child friendly.

Treatment is done one hair at a time with insulated probes, under AEA Infection Prevention Standards, with a schedule agreed at consultation. Pay-as-you-go pricing is used in place of packages.
