New Image Laser Hair Removal is located in Suite 31 at 22 Woburn Street in Reading. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm. The business brings together hair removal, skin care and skin tightening services under one roof.

The practice is run by its owner, Nancy, who started out as an electrolysis practitioner and later added laser hair removal to her work. She regularly attends workshops and seminars to keep up with new equipment and developments in laser technology.

Laser hair removal is done with the LightSheer diode laser system and can be used on areas including the beard, upper lip, bikini and Brazilian areas, chest, shoulders and back, legs, arms, underarms and face. Sessions run from a few minutes up to 60 minutes. Because lasers only work on hair in its active growth phase, most people need more than one treatment. Topical anesthesia is available for more sensitive areas. Afterward, some redness and swelling is normal; a cool compress and a light moisturizer are suggested.

Lasers cannot treat white, blonde, gray or red hair, so electrolysis is offered alongside laser for those hairs. Electrolysis also treats hair in its active growth phase and usually takes several sessions.

The skin care menu includes microdermabrasion, which uses a micro-crystal abrasive to exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells. It is offered for fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, whiteheads, sun damage, age spots and hyperpigmentation. A separate sun damage treatment addresses unwanted freckles and brown spots.

Skin tightening options include Pelleve, which uses radio frequency energy to heat deeper skin layers, and ReFirme, which is used on wrinkles under the eyes, brow lines, cheeks and neck. ReFirme results build gradually over a number of sessions, depending on skin condition.

Pairs laser hair removal with electrolysis so that hair colors lasers cannot target are still treated.
