Nature Love Salon opened in 2017, and its staff had already spent many years in the nail industry before that. The salon is located in East Sacramento, a short distance from Tower Bridge, the Old Sacramento Waterfront and McKinley Park. The business's gift card checkout lists the operator as Nature Love Inc.
The salon's stated aim is a calm room where clients can step away from their day, while also giving back to the environment and the local community. It describes itself as a non-toxic, cruelty-free, vegan-friendly eco nail salon, and says all of its products are 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free. Its polishes are said to be free of formaldehyde, toluene and parabens, and the salon uses minimal-waste practices and eco-conscious supplies. A complimentary beverage is offered to clients.
Services are built around four manicure and four pedicure tiers: Classic, Signature, Deluxe and Ultimate Spa. Each can be done with a buff, a polish or a gel finish, so the price rises with the finish chosen. Hot stone and steam towel wraps are included in the manicure and pedicure services, Himalayan salt stone massage is offered, and paraffin wax is part of the Deluxe and Ultimate Spa options. Smaller extras, such as callus treatment, cuticle cleaning, nail art and marble designs, can be added on.
The salon makes many of its own products in-house with natural ingredients and sources them locally in the Sacramento area. Its scrubs use coconut oil, organic cane sugar, essential oil and organic coffee grounds from a coffee shop across the street. The handcrafted lotion includes cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, vitamin E and essential oil. Pedicure bowls are made from renewable plant-based materials such as rice, corn and sugar cane, and the salon says one of its bowls won a 2015 Innovative Green Product of the Year award from the Green Spa Network.
Same-day appointments are available by contacting the salon, and group bookings and private parties can be arranged. Private parties get exclusive use of the salon and treatments tailored to the group, and need advance booking and a deposit. Clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early, and to give 24 hours notice for changes or cancellations to avoid fees.
The salon works from an eco-focused philosophy, favoring non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free products, minimal waste and locally sourced, in-house made supplies.
The salon aims for a calm setting where clients can unwind, with a complimentary beverage on offer.
