Naturally Yours

Naturally Yours opened in 1987 and has been run by Pamela since then. The studio is at 957 Dewing Avenue, Suite 10, in downtown Lafayette. It is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and clients can reach the team at info@naturallyyoursnails.com.

The menu is short and focused. The Plain Water Manicure takes about 30 minutes and covers hand filing, soaking, cuticle work, a scrub and polish with base and top coat. Adrian Jean Paper Wraps, formerly called Juliette Paper Wraps, take an hour and include a full manicure at each visit before the wraps are reapplied. The wraps are a different material from silk, linen, fiberglass, acrylic, Shellac and gel.

Nails dry in about four to five minutes after the top coat, and the set lasts two weeks. It comes off with regular polish remover, with no LED lamps, drilling or acetone. The method originated in Chandler, Arizona.

Pedicures take an hour and include a 15-minute soak in a footbath with a single-use liner rather than a pedicure chair or spa. They finish with Eco-Logique, a scrub the salon makes in-house from organic ingredients.

Every tool is disinfected after each use, footbath included, and the footbath liner is replaced at every appointment. According to the salon, its sanitation standard is exemplary. Guests coming in for the first time are given a complimentary organza pouch containing toe separators, a foot file, a manicure brush, an orangewood stick and a nail file. Clients with nail concerns are advised by the salon to see a doctor or dermatologist.

The salon works with natural nail care in mind. It does not use acetone, and its products are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene and DBP.

The studio sits among trees beside a local creek and is furnished like a home, with a comfortable couch, home-style decor and an overhead fan.
