The salon's approach draws on African and Caribbean hair care traditions. Stylists focus on healthy hair and on styles that fit each client's daily life, and they advise clients on which care routine suits their hair texture. The salon calls itself a one-stop shop for natural and healthy hair care.

Pricing depends on hair condition, texture and length. A stylist creates a hair analysis and client profile before quoting an accurate price, and services are priced a la carte unless noted otherwise. A complimentary consultation is required for all new clients. Virtual consultations are offered from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday, and other consultation times can be arranged by phone. Appointments can be booked online or through the Pocket Salon app and require a $50 deposit toward the service. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and a late cancellation forfeits $50 of the deposit.

Beyond appointments, the salon offers two courses. Everything You Need to Know About Locs is a course on locs, and Locology: The Master Class is aimed at stylists, loc caretakers and anyone interested in locs. The salon also sells hair products and gift cards.
