Hand sprays are done by airbrush artists, all of whom are women. Clients choose half body or full body, and can pick NB Solution or the Rapid group of NB Rapid, Clear Rapid and NB Clear. The Rapid solutions allow clients to shower sooner than the standard solution.
Booth sprays use a VersaSpa Pro booth with four options: legs only, full body, full body with extra legs, and full body with an extra full body application.
Before the appointment, exfoliating is optional, but if a client does exfoliate it should be gentle and even. Lotions and moisturizers are best avoided beforehand, especially on the legs. Facial foundation or sunscreen can be removed on arrival, and manicures, pedicures and waxing should be finished before the tan. Disposable underwear, hair bonnets, hair ties and nose plugs are provided. Bras are not supplied because of strap lines, so clients may bring their own bathing suit top, and pasties are available. Most clients go without tops during the tan, and loose clothing is recommended afterward.
The business says its aftercare advice comes from its airbrush artists. Clients are asked to wait 8 or more hours before showering, or 1 to 4 hours after a Rapid tan, and to keep water off the skin and avoid moisturizing, exercise or heavy sweating in the first hours. Solutions take 12 to 18 hours to fully develop. Dove soap is not recommended, daily moisturizing helps the tan last, and waterproof sunscreen is advised for chlorine pools and jacuzzis. Long baths, hot tubs, extended swimming and exfoliants labeled renewing, regenerating, anti-aging or anti-acne are best avoided after a tan.
