Nailsbyshanell is owned and run by Yshanell Jiron, who started the business in January 2020. It has two locations: one in a suite on West Broward Boulevard in Plantation and one on North 29th Avenue in Hollywood.

Freestyle and custom nail art are the main focus. Designs are planned around the client's color, texture and theme preferences. The menu includes Maximalist Freestyle, which runs 160 minutes or more and starts with a theme from the client and two planned design options, along with several Hallowfreestyle designs and a simpler freestyle option.

Outside of freestyle, the menu covers Gel X and acrylic work, ombre and French sets in several lengths, solid color, classic pedicures, natural nail gel and overlay services, and maintenance such as fills, soak offs and single-nail repair. Nail education is also offered, including a three-day course, a one-week course and an online course with two free chapters before enrolling.

Some booking details are worth knowing before a first visit. New clients pay a $50 deposit for certain specials, and some freestyle specials ask new clients to send an inspiration photo first. Services are not refundable. Clients agree to the terms and conditions before booking, which includes responsibility for nail issues after they leave the appointment. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment.
