Nailbed & Bar was founded by Jhavon, known as Jay, after years working in the beauty industry. The salon describes itself as a luxury eco-friendly nail salon and says its aim is to be recognized as an above-standard, art-focused nail salon with a trendsetting edge.

The salon presents each visit as a relaxed retreat, with every service paired with a non-alcoholic drink, called a virgin cocktail. Guests are assigned a specific nail technician for their appointment time, and the salon aims to tailor the experience to each guest.

Manicures and pedicures share a core routine: nail shaping, e-file cuticle or callus conditioning, hydration, massage, and either polish or a natural buff. The Toast and Thirst pedicures add the signature sugar scrub and or a paraffin hydration, and Toast and Thirst finish with a relaxing soak. Taste includes a sugar scrub and soak, and Thirst pairs a sugar scrub with paraffin.

Nailbed & Bar runs the Xpress Truck, a mobile unit that brings nail art to outside locations, and hosts private nail parties, including a themed Colour Class offered at the salon and on the truck. It also runs a Resident Artist Collective that gives other creatives, such as lash artists, tattoo artists, makeup artists and hair stylists, use of the space on set days. The collective is not a salon suite rental program.

The salon offers a seven-day no-chip guarantee on all services, and will adjust nails or remove enhancements or coatings if a guest raises a concern before checkout.

The salon emphasizes waterless services, single-use or sterilized tools, and products it describes as non-toxic and eco-conscious.
