Mycelium Salon was founded in 2022 by Maayan Birnstein, who also works there as an owner and stylist. It operates as a chair rental salon, so the space is shared by independent stylists rather than run as a single team with one set of services.
The name draws on New Latin and Greek origins and means more than one. The salon describes its team as some of the most talented and dedicated people working in hair, according to the salon itself.
Each stylist has their own booking page and service information, so clients choose and book the stylist they want. Stylists ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel without being charged, and clients who are unwell are asked to reschedule rather than come in.
Scheduling questions can go by email to myceliumsalon@gmail.com or by text to 2028558858; that number accepts texts only. The salon is open 9:00am to 7:00pm from Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Mondays. Clients staying for an extended appointment are asked not to bring young children, because chemicals and sharp tools are in use throughout the salon.
