My Girl Collaborative

My Girl Collaborative was founded by Katie and Ami and opened in April 2024 at its Arlington Heights location. It is set up as a collective of independent hair professionals, with several stylists and colorists working under one roof.

The salon describes its goal as a personalized, trend-forward experience, with a plan toward each client's desired look and realistic expectations. Ongoing education is part of the model so stylists keep up with current techniques and styles. The team also hosts events, partners with small local businesses, and supports continuing education for its stylists, and it reports more than 30 years of combined experience.

Bookings are made through Vagaro. Clients are asked to arrive with clean, dry hair and to wash out temporary color powders or sprays first. A patch test can be arranged before appointments for clients with allergies or sensitivities. Appointments are for the client alone, and pets should stay home.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel; later cancellations may be charged 50% of the service cost, and no-shows or same-day cancellations may be charged the full amount. Deposits are non-refundable but carry over to a rescheduled service. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean a shortened service or a new appointment, which could carry a cancellation fee. Unopened or once-used products can be exchanged for an equal or lesser value, but opened products are not refundable.
