Mutable Beauty Studio was founded in 2024 by estheticians Kelsie Whitehead and Alyssa Bradley. The studio welcomes clients of every body type and gender, and its services are built around waxing with a skin-care side.
Appointments are required and are booked online, though same-day appointments are welcome. Each visit begins with a short consultation covering preferences, skin sensitivities and comfort, so the treatment can be planned around what the client needs. Before waxing, hair should be about a quarter inch long, and clients should not shave for roughly two weeks beforehand.
The Brazilian and bikini menu runs from bikini waxing at $40 up to Brazilian waxing with the P or Manzilian option at $80, with several in-between cuts and extended versions. Facial and body waxing is priced by area, with small facial areas at $12 and full arms, legs and backs at higher rates. Combination packages pair brow, lip, underarm or leg waxing with a Brazilian, and deluxe waxing options add a post-glow treatment, a full moon facial or a vajacial. Vajacial and mask services are charged on top of the listed deluxe prices.
Brow services include shaping, staining and lamination. Brow staining gives temporary color to the brows, and lamination temporarily straightens the brow hairs; both last about four weeks. Men's waxing covers chest and Brazilian-style services, including Manzilian waxing.
A complimentary cooling mask comes with waxing for anyone booking their first visit. After a wax, some redness and irritation is considered normal and typically fades within one to two days. For a while afterward, guests are asked to skip hot showers and baths, pools, hot tubs, hard workouts and snug clothing. Exfoliating one or two days before an appointment is suggested, and a daily salt scrub followed by an unscented moisturizer is recommended.
Each visit opens with a consultation on preferences, skin sensitivities and comfort, and the studio plans treatment around the client from there.
