Morristown Electrolysis & Skin Care is located in Suite 404 at 100 East Hanover Avenue in Cedar Knolls. The office is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The business describes its goal as the highest standard in electrolysis and skincare.
Electrolysis is offered for permanent hair removal on almost any area of the body. A fine, sterile probe that is disposed of after use is placed alongside the hair within the follicle, so the skin is not punctured. The electrologist selects galvanic, thermolysis or blend method for each client. The practice serves women, men, teens and transgender clients, including people with dark skin or curly, coarse hair. According to the business, electrolysis was first developed in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel.
A first visit begins with a complimentary 15-minute consultation, and the first electrolysis appointment is limited to 15 minutes. After that, electrolysis is priced at $50 for 15 minutes, $90 for 30 minutes, $110 for 45 minutes and $125 for 60 minutes. Each additional 15 minutes beyond one hour costs $30.
Microdermabrasion uses diamond-tipped heads with adjustable vacuum pressure, and the business says it requires no downtime. It is offered for dull skin, oily skin prone to acne, sun-damaged or discolored areas, mild-to-moderate acne scarring and fine lines. A first session, 75 minutes including a skin care consultation, costs $150, and a regular session costs $125. For two weeks beforehand, clients are asked to stop salicylic acid and retinoid products and to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, waxing and chemical peels.
The practice carries SkinCeuticals products for the face and body, including Prevent, Protect and Correct lines as well as cleansers, toners and moisturizers, and offers a personalized skincare consultation. The business says SkinCeuticals holds 10 patents. Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours ahead to avoid a fee, or 48 hours for appointments of two hours or more. Late arrivals may be given a shortened appointment because the office is often fully booked. Before electrolysis, clients are asked to avoid tweezing, threading and waxing and to skip caffeine on the day of treatment. Online booking is available to existing clients.
Treatments are tailored to each client, with single-use sterile probes for electrolysis and direct-to-skin instruments sterilized after every use.
