Moodz has provided personalized beauty care since 1992 and says it has served the MetroWest area for more than three decades. The business is locally owned by Kate and Brad Heusner and operates two locations: one at 556 Massachusetts Ave. in West Acton and one at 19 Pelham Island Rd. in Wayland. A boutique and an online store are also part of the business.

About

New clients can book a complimentary beauty consultation to talk through goals before choosing services. Guests are asked to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early, and are offered artisanal teas and fruit infusions in a tranquility lounge before appointments. The lounge can also be reserved for wedding parties and events. Both locations have complimentary private parking behind the building, and body treatments take place in private treatment rooms.

Hair color work uses European color and custom-blended formulas, and includes foil highlighting, balayage and ombre, single process color, toners and creative color. Corrective color is available after a consultation for at-home color mishaps or sun-related damage, and color consultations are complimentary. Smoothing options include the Cezanne Smoothing Treatment, which the salon describes as award winning, and a faster Cezanne Express version, along with a one-hour Smooth for Men. Gentle and dramatic perms, permanent hair extensions made from real human hair and matched to the client's own color, and women's, men's, teen and children's cuts round out the hair menu.

Facials begin with a skin analysis so treatments can be tailored, and the menu runs from quick express and T-zone facials to collagen, CBD and ultrasonic options. Clinical facials and peels are offered alongside them, including several DermaSweep treatments and Procell Microchanneling, a microneedling service. Massage, body treatments, nails, hair removal and spa packages cover the rest of the menu, and bridal services include a wedding day coordinator, bridal party packages and onsite hair and makeup. Bridal bookings are made by email, and private spa reservations for wedding parties can be arranged with catering.

Moodz describes its approach as personalized care, beginning with a complimentary Signature Consultation to set goals and choose services.
