Modern Medusa Hair Studio is a single-owner studio at 235 Newbury Street, Suite 12, in Danvers. The name was chosen to suggest growth, strength, independence and change, with a contemporary reading of the Medusa name.

The studio is open Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 7 PM, Thursday from 11 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM. It is closed Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.

A hair consultation, priced at $35 for 30 minutes, talks through hair history, concerns and goals, and the fee is applied toward a service booked afterward. Fashion color requires a consultation and a deposit, and the cost and time are estimated after that conversation.

Curly cutting is one of the most detailed parts of the menu. New clients get a thorough consultation, a custom dry cut, a wash, a treatment and styling, along with guidance on products, application and at-home curl care. Returning clients can book a custom dry cut or reshape with a wash and curly set.

Each appointment is one-on-one and built around the client's hair and their individual goals.

A private, unhurried studio where clients can talk openly about their hair and ask questions without judgment.
