About

MM Seattle SMP focuses only on scalp micropigmentation, a method of applying pigment to the scalp to create the look of hair density. The studio works with men and women, and serves clients in Seattle and surrounding areas, with the business stating that clients also travel from Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. Treatments cover density, male pattern baldness, receding hairlines, thinning hair, alopecia, and camouflage of hair transplant, surgical, burn and accident scars.

Every plan is customized to the hair loss pattern, skin tone, age, existing hair and goals. The work is done gradually, over several sessions, with density built up slowly so the result avoids an oversaturated or very dark look and leaves some scalp visible. Pigment shade is matched to each client's skin tone and hair color, and gray-scale pigment can be adjusted at touch-up if hair turns gray. Pricing runs from $1,800 to $4,000 depending on the level of hair loss and covers the entire job rather than each session.

A visit begins with a free consultation, which can be held in person at the Seattle office, by FaceTime or phone, or by texting photos to 206-305-1895. The studio is open Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday. Numbing is not needed, clients can take breaks as needed, and some redness similar to a mild sunburn is common after each session, with most clients returning to work the same day. Clients may watch the treatment in progress or view a healed result on a previous client, when that client allows it.

Treatment includes a 6-month warranty after the initial three-session course, during which adjustments or an extra session are provided at no charge. Touch-ups are generally needed every four to five years and take a single session. Payment plans are available through Cherry, a point-of-sale financing company, with equal monthly payments; the business states that Cherry offers zero percent financing subject to approval, with regular APRs of 9.99% to 35.99%, and that a down payment may be required. Applicants must be at least 18, hold a valid U.S. state driver's license and have a bank-issued debit card. Cherry runs a soft credit check that does not affect the credit score.

The studio shares a few practical timing and medication notes. Clients should stop Rogaine two weeks before starting and for 30 days after the final session, and may keep using laser caps and Propecia. A hair transplant can be scheduled three months after the last SMP session, while SMP must wait a year after a hair transplant. Raised or pink scars may need microneedling or fraxel laser sessions beforehand, and scar camouflage can take more than two or three sessions.

The business describes itself as the top voted SMP artist in Seattle and reports more than 3,000 SMP treatments performed since June 2016. It also says it has 170 or more five-star reviews across Google and social media, and that it is one of the leading SMP training academies in the area. These are the business's own claims. It publishes guidance on touch-ups, aftercare and sun protection for scalp micropigmentation.

Takes a conservative, customized approach, building density gradually across several sessions and leaving some scalp visible rather than pushing for maximum darkness.
