A visit usually begins with a consultation. The hair and scalp consultation includes a close examination of the hair and scalp and a review of health history, nutrition, lifestyle and medication, and it may add a hair mineral analysis and a microscopic view of the scalp. Hair and Scalp Microscopic Analysis looks for buildup, bacteria, fungus and sebum. A separate hair or color consultation, at 30 minutes, includes a strand test when one is needed.
The salon offers treatments aimed at hair loss, thinning, shedding, breakage and scalp conditions. These include Deep Cleansing and Detoxification, which hydrates the hair, works to improve elasticity and removes product and environmental buildup, and Hair Growth Penetrating Treatment, which is described as penetrating the hair shaft and increasing blood circulation to the follicle. A 90-day hair growth treatment using chemical-free methods is also offered.
Color services use OWAY professional organic color. Options include full color, partial color or touch-up, partial or full highlights with foil or balayage, and customized color that can cover gray, add highlights or build depth and dimension. The salon says most of its ingredients are certified organic and that its color uses as many organic botanicals and as few synthetic chemicals as possible.
Braiding is a large part of the menu, with basic braids, twists, crochet, weaving, add-on hair and kids braiding for ages 4 to 12. The salon provides the hair for most braiding services, and clients can request a color in the booking notes. Braiding does not include shampoo, regular conditioning or a blow dry, though these can be added. Clients who want a creative style can send a picture in advance by email or text. A six-hour one-on-one braid class is taught hands-on by the in-house braiders.
The salon aims for a hair experience without strong chemical smells. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a charge; same-day cancellations are charged 50 percent of the service price, and no-call, no-show appointments are charged the full price. If a client is unhappy with a service, the salon will correct the hairstyle within two days at no additional cost. Sales are final and nonrefundable.
