Mizu Head Spa

Mizu Head Spa was founded by Diane, who works as the head spa therapist. The business is located inside Salt and Light Studio at 20318 SE Hwy 212 in Damascus, Oregon, in a studio suite that is private and set up for a single client, so clients cannot bring a friend to the same appointment.

Sessions are appointment-only and booked through the business's GlossGenius page. Booking-site hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM, with Monday, Saturday and Sunday closed. A visit begins with a scalp analysis and an aromatherapy blend the client chooses, followed by a scalp massage with premium oils. A gentle exfoliating scalp treatment comes next, then a deep cleansing shampoo massage. The Signature service includes time under the Toshinyoku head bath, a head soak with a warm waterfall-style flow along the hairline, and finishes with a deep conditioning hair mask under a Spa Mist cap and a hand massage with hot towels. A scalp analysis under a microscope is done before and after each treatment. Both services include a light dry, and a full blow dry is charged separately.

The Premium session follows every step of the Signature service and adds extra scalp massage and extra time under the head bath. Those are the business's own claims rather than outcomes the listing can promise.

Clients receive a robe, blanket and socks that they can take home. The chair reclines, has a leather head cushion and is ergonomically designed, and a warm micro-mist and hot towels are used throughout. Clients are asked to arrive with unwashed hair. Head spa is not offered to clients with braids, hair extensions, dreadlocks or a serious scalp condition, and clients with lice, open sores or scalp abrasions are advised not to book. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are charged a 50% fee, and a no-show without notice is charged the full service price.

Sessions follow a Japanese head spa method, with a scalp analysis before and after each treatment.
