MISK Hair Studio opened at the start of 2024 in Lynnwood. The name MISK is made from the letters of owner Mizuki Sakaoka's name. The salon is a single chair inside Salon Republic - Lynnwood, and it is designed to feel private, with a relaxed personal space for each client.

Sakaoka worked as a hairstylist in Nagoya, Japan, for ten years before moving to the Seattle area in 2016 to work at a local salon. The salon says its expertise comes from experience in both Japan and America, and it aims to offer the comfort of a Japanese hair salon. Since opening, the owner has focused only on clients. Inquiries are welcome in Japanese.

A visit starts with a consultation, and one stylist takes the appointment through shampoo, haircut, color and perms. Free 15-minute consultations are offered for color and for perms. New clients need a consultation before any perm, and a color consultation is not held on the same day as a color service. Chemical services are booked first, with haircuts and repair treatments added afterward.

The salon has a waitlist, and clients can message to be added. Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours for haircuts or 48 hours for chemical services carry a 50% fee. Clients more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment rescheduled and are charged 50% of the service. No-shows are charged the full scheduled service. Clients have two weeks to report a problem with a service; the salon will consult and redo the service, and refunds are not given without a problem being shown.

Free parking is available. To find Suite 108, turn left at the front desk and walk down the hall; the suite is on the left.

The salon aims to bring the comfort of a Japanese hair salon to Lynnwood, with a private, relaxed setting and one stylist who handles each step of the visit.
