The salon was started after its founder saw that many nail salons did not pair nail artistry with the hygiene standards of a medical facility. Tim and Jenny lead the business and bring more than 10 years of experience in the nail industry. The name Mio is meant to reflect beauty built on personal attention and scientific precision.
The stated goal is a relaxing visit, dependable service and good results at a fair price. Artists work through months of training in the salon's own Mio method, and every artist completes the training program. Continuing education is also offered to the team.
Prices vary by location and depend on the difficulty, length, shape, time and products used for each service. Nail art is priced by how complex the design is. Custom art or special design requests can be sent through the online booking form, and the team confirms the details and a deposit before the appointment.
Booking requires a deposit: $20 for standard services and $30 for longer or specialty work such as Gel-X, full sets and designs. The deposit is paid by Zelle within 15 to 30 minutes of booking or the appointment is released. Changes made at least 24 hours ahead receive a full deposit refund, while later changes, same-day cancellations and no-shows forfeit it. A deposit is also required for preferred-technician bookings and for groups of three or more.
The salon does not treat ingrown toenails and suggests seeing a podiatrist for those.
Nail artistry is carried out with hygiene standards modeled on a medical facility. Reusable tools are disinfected between clients using Barbicide sanitation standards, many items are single-use, and single-use tools are recycled after each service.
