Mint Salon

Mint is on East 9th Street in downtown Lockport. Visits move at an unhurried pace, and appointments are kept personal. New clients can book haircuts, hair color, straightening or perm treatments, makeovers and conditioning treatments. Bookings can be made online or by phoning 815.838.2660. Opening hours are Tuesday and Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Wednesday 9am to 8pm, and Friday and Saturday 9am to 3pm; the salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays. For parking, guests can use the Hamilton Street lot on the western side of the building, which stretches from 9th Street to 10th Street.

Mint carries Eufora products and matches retail products to each client's hair. Clients can buy them at the salon or pick them up later. Gift cards can be sent online or collected at the front desk. Eufora's Clean Beauty platform, which the salon follows, is built around safety, sustainability, ethics and transparency. The salon says it partners with Green Circle Salon, has diverted 4,659 pounds of waste from the landfill, recycles up to 95% of its salon waste and has diverted 201.5 pounds of excess color.

MINTCLUB is a free membership that asks for visits scheduled over a one-year period, with five appointments recommended. Members receive 10% off color and cut, 30% off waxing, 15% off the conditioning ritual and 10% off blow dries, each usable once per year, plus 10% off products. Women get free bang trims, neckline cleanups and product samples, with some exclusions. Men get free neckline, ear, mustache, beard and eyebrow cleanups, free product samples and $3 between-the-brow waxing. MINTCLUB Cash returns 2% in points on cash or check spending, usable on retail purchases and expiring one year after they are earned. Cancellations need 24 hours notice, otherwise 50% of scheduled services is charged to the card on file. No-call, no-show appointments are charged 100% of scheduled services to the card on file.
