Mindful Roots Hair Artistry

Mindful Roots occupies the bottom floor of a house built in 1935 that was lived in for decades before it became commercial in 2021. The space was completely remodeled and officially opened in October 2022. Kristin Hadle owns the salon and manages it.

The salon is a rental suite rather than a single-team salon. Four hair stations each have an ergonomic Minerva Beauty chair, on-floor storage, a blow dryer holder, a purse hook and a built-in hair vacuum in the wall. Two shampoo bowls have foot levers, neck cushions and eco water heads that filter the water.

Clients have two guest lounges with wifi and music to wait in. Two color rooms, one on each side of the salon, include cabinets, drawers, shelving and child boosters. Stylists share a break room with a fridge, a table and chairs, a Nespresso machine, filtered hot and cold water and tea. Laundry is done in an in-house station in the basement.

Each stylist sets their own contact details, hours and services. Renters receive their own key and can get into the building any day of the week. Rent is paid monthly by check, cash, Venmo or Zelle and covers the station, storage, wifi, music, break room, bathroom and laundry room. Renters are advised to carry their own insurance for services and damages. Appointments can be requested by calling or texting the number listed on the salon's links page.

The salon focuses on non-toxic ingredients and a low-tox environment, from the laundry products to the cleaning sprays used around the space.
