The business later expanded to Toronto, Canada, and now operates from its home base in Davie, Florida under its current name.

The studio says its focus is natural beauty, careful craftsmanship, personalized care and a welcoming environment for clients of all kinds. It says it brings more than two decades of loc expertise to natural hair care, and it describes its loc care as chemical free.

Every visit starts with a consultation, which is required before any microlocs installation. It lasts 30 minutes, costs $60, and is non-refundable and non-transferable, with full payment due before the appointment. Clients must come alone, as children, guests and pets are not permitted. Installation appointments need freshly shampooed hair free of oils, creams and heavy products.

Installation options are microlocs, which use the interlocking technique and usually take 2 to 5 days, sisterlocks, which generally take 4 to 5 days, and two-strand twist locs, which combine the two-strand twist and interlocking methods. Ongoing care includes retightening, usually every 4 to 6 weeks for microlocs, along with corrective work for slippage, holes, bunching, loose ends and grid issues. Appointments on the owner's scheduled day off are available by request for an additional fee.

Care is personalized to each client's hair, with a consultation before any microlocs work.
