Microblading by Nga

Microblading by Nga is owned and run by Nga Nguyen, who also performs the procedures. Bookings are made by email or text, and the studio is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Microblading is a manual method. The artist uses a disposable pen-like tool with a single-use blade to place pigment in the upper skin layer in fine strokes that follow the direction of the client's natural hairs. The result is semi-permanent. Microblading is $400 for a 3D session and includes a touch-up after 6 weeks. Microshading, at $450, combines microblading with a powder effect. Both are two-step processes with both sessions included in the price: the first takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and covers shaping, color selection and the procedure, and the second takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The studio says microblading typically lasts 1 to 3 years and recommends annual touch-ups.

Ombre Brows, at $300, use a soft machine method for a powder-brow effect. The studio suggests them for clients with sensitive or oily skin and for clients who have had eyebrow tattooing before. Results last 1 to 3 years, and a touch-up after 6 weeks is included. Nano Brows, at $500, use a one-point needle and tattoo machine for a look similar to microblading. The studio recommends them for all skin types, and a touch-up after 6 weeks is included.

Clients must be 18 or older and not pregnant or breastfeeding to book. Before the service, clients are asked to avoid eyebrow waxing and alcohol, and to stop blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and omegas. Clients on certain prescriptions are advised to wait 3 to 6 months before booking. New clients who had microblading elsewhere should send a current photo for review, and touch-up pricing may vary. Clients with an existing eyebrow tattoo should also send a photo first, since a tattoo that is too dark must be removed before microblading. Aftercare asks clients to keep brows dry for 10 days, apply aftercare balm twice daily for 5 days, avoid brow makeup for 14 days, and avoid direct sun for 2 weeks. Retinol, glycolic acid and salicylic acid products should not be used on the brows. Final results cannot be guaranteed, because each skin type retains and breaks down pigment differently.
