Every new client starts with a free consultation, where skin type, allergies and medical history are reviewed. Clients are asked to check with their doctor about medications that could interact with permanent makeup, and the business lists conditions that may make someone a poor candidate, so it is worth reading those before booking. The first permanent makeup appointment usually runs two to three hours. A topical numbing cream goes on first and a second anesthetic is used during the procedure. For artists, the studio runs Fundamental Permanent Makeup Training, a five-day course covering eyebrows, eyeliner and lips, with bloodborne pathogen training on the first day and live model practice on the fifth. Group training costs $5,400 and one-to-one private training costs $6,000. Certification is awarded at the end of the course, and one-day private classes on brows, eyeliner or lips can be arranged on request.

Permanent makeup is customized after consultation, based on each client's skin, the desired shape and the technique that suits them, and the studio pairs that with a medical-style screening process.
