Michael's Couture Salon sits in historic downtown Leesburg, Florida, roughly 45 minutes north of Orlando and 30 minutes south of Ocala. It opened in 1992 and has stayed at its corner location of Main Street and 4th Street since. The salon is named for Michael Bradley, its original owner, who trained Kim early in her career. Kim and Robert now co-own the business, which has grown to more than 20 stylists, nail technicians and salon coordinators. The salon describes itself as an elite salon.

The salon has 16 stylist stations, two nail stations and a private pedicure room. A midsize parking lot is next to the building on 4th Street, and parallel street parking is available on and around Main, 4th, 5th and Magnolia streets.

Hours are Monday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The salon is closed on Sundays. Clients can book a free, in-depth consultation before an appointment to talk through hair changes they have in mind. Hair extensions require a consultation before the first service. Clients running late should call ahead, since the salon may adjust the schedule or ask them to reschedule if it affects another appointment.

The loyalty program starts with a free Silver membership, which gives early access to events and exclusive offers. Silver members earn 1 point per dollar spent on retail and double points during their birthday month, and 100 points redeem for a $3 coupon. Points expire at the end of the calendar year. Platinum status earns 1.25 points per dollar, and its points do not expire, but status must be re-qualified or bought in each year. Platinum is reached by earning 300 points in one year or with a $50 buy-in, which includes a VIP t-shirt and a full-size shampoo and conditioner of choice. Gift cards are sold for use at the salon.

According to the salon, Lake and Sumter Style Magazine named it the #1 Hottest Hair Salon in Lake and Sumter County for 2018, and the Daily Commercial named it the #1 Hair Salon in 2017.

Built on the training of its stylists and a focus on education, with free consultations offered before appointments so clients can plan changes.
