Michael Paul Color

Michael Paul Color is a private hair color studio in Dallas, owned and run by Michael, who does the coloring himself. Clients are seen one-on-one in a studio that is calm, comfortable and private. The studio is open Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 6pm.

Michael has more than 30 years of experience in the hair industry, and color is the main focus of the work. Each shade is built for the individual guest rather than chosen from a fixed chart, with attention to the haircut and skin tone.

Booking is done online up to 90 days ahead, and appointments often fill two to twelve weeks out. A waitlist is kept for cancellations. New guests complete an online consultation first, which Michael reviews within one business day, and begin with a 15 to 30 minute check-in before the color service. A beverage of the guest's choice is offered during appointments, and color adjustments can be requested within one week of a service.

The menu is limited to color services. It runs from a quick base adjustment with a scalp massage, through full-head color that can lighten, darken or cover gray, to dimensional lightening around the face or all over. Add-ons include a haircut, brow tint and extra time for thick or long hair. Services for guests new to color, or with no color in the last 12 weeks, are priced after an in-person consultation, from $330 to $826.

Michael builds custom color around each guest and works one-on-one through every appointment, with the aim of a shade that suits the haircut, skin tone, lifestyle and personal style.
