Mia Bella Studios was founded in 2018 by Honey and Dessy. It began as Dessy's hair extension business, which needed a stylist to help show off its products, and the salon grew out of that. Honey, the owner, had built a name around Houston for her hair skills before the salon opened, and she says she started her hair career about 13 years before opening her first salon.

The salon states a promise of quality clients can trust and an experience they will enjoy. The room has an open floor plan with an old-school salon feel and a modern look. The salon also rents private suites and booths to hairstylists, with weekly rates available on request.

The menu lists an estimated time for each service, so clients can plan their visit. Several prices vary with the hair and the design chosen.

The salon also sells raw hair extensions sourced from southeast Asia, Cambodia and India, including Raw Vietnamese, Raw Cambodian, virgin, textured, HD lace and blonde options, along with tape-ins, clip-ins and ready-to-wear wigs. Bulk and custom orders are handled by consultation. Hair extension orders carry no refunds or exchanges, and a loyalty program awards points on product purchases.
