Mermaid Spa is a nail salon at 1750 W 18th St in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. It opened in January 2020 and describes itself as a family-owned small business that has become a go-to in the neighborhood. It is open Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and it is closed on Sundays.

Appointments can only be made by phone. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed. A deposit of at least $15 per person is required and goes toward the service, but deposits are non-refundable. Rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice forfeits the deposit and requires a new one. Clients have a 15-minute grace period; after that the deposit is kept and does not count toward the service, and late clients may lose their service.

The menu is organized into hands, feet, combos, acrylic and Gel-X sets, and extras. Manicures run from a children's option up to a no-chip version, and the Mermaid Mani adds two rounds of hot towels, a scrub, a soy candle massage and a short hand massage. Pedicures come in basic, no-chip, Mermaid and jelly styles, and there is an acrylic pedicure with tips for length. Gel manicures are described as lasting two to three weeks.

Nail art is priced by length and design intricacy, and a quote can be requested before the visit. Designs offered include chrome, foil, flakes, rhinestones, cat-eye, hand-drawn and 3D work. Clients are asked to have a design ready on arrival and are welcome to bring inspiration images, though designs are recreated as closely as the technicians can rather than copied exactly from another set. Because capacity is limited, guests are asked not to come along, and children who are not getting services are not allowed in the salon for safety reasons. Event booking inquiries can be made through the contact form or by phone.

A 7-day guarantee covers no-chip manicures, acrylic sets, gel extensions and dip extensions, but not work done at other salons. Claims must be made in person or by phone within seven days, and photos are not accepted for claims. Repairs after the guarantee period carry a small fee, and nail repairs are not done on weekends.
