MELT by Melissa started in 2014 on a kitchen countertop in Scottsdale, Arizona, and early on it ran out of a 400 square foot studio apartment. Brow magic, a brow service that combines waxing, trimming and tweezing with a brow massage and finishing with powders and gels, was the signature service the business was built on.

Today it has two studios. The Scottsdale location, which the business calls the Mothership, is in Old Town at 7500 E Main St, phone (480) 819-8535, and is open Tuesday through Saturday by appointment. The Phoenix studio is in Midtown at 1215 E Missouri Ave, inside The Fred, phone (602) 575-9694, and is open Tuesday through Sunday by appointment. Brows and facials are offered at both studios, and body waxing is available at all locations.

The menu covers brows, lashes, facials and hydrafacials, body waxing, spray tans and fine line tattooing, which includes microblading appointments. A separate Melt Man menu serves men, and a Melt Mamas menu offers pregnancy-safe skincare, brows and lashes, body waxing and organic spray tans. The business also sells its own clean-beauty skincare and brow care products, both online and in studio, and operates an academy for mentoring artists.

Booking policies are firm. Appointments canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours are charged 50 percent of the service fee, and microblading requires 48 hours notice. Arriving 15 minutes or more late may mean rescheduling with a 50 percent fee, and after three no-shows the full fee is charged and prepayment may be required. Services already performed are not refunded, and retail returns are not accepted; damaged or defective items should be reported by email.
