Melanated Paradise is a Chicago nail business founded by Micah, a nail artist who specializes in acrylic work and is expanding into polygel and Gel-X. The studio is at 400 West 76th Street in Auburn Gresham, reachable by bus and train, with street parking nearby.
For full sets, clients arrive with bare, clean nails, free of gel or polish. Clients are asked to share nail health concerns such as fungus, sensitive nail beds or nail biting. A full set with nail art usually takes two to four hours, and retention lasts up to four weeks, with a fill suggested at two to three weeks.
Booking goes through GlossGenius, using the Book Now button, the Instagram bio, text or direct message. Same-day appointments are possible when booked before 10 AM. The studio is open Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sunday is by appointment. Regular clients need no deposit, while model appointments require a $5 deposit. Cancellations made within six hours of the appointment count as late, and arriving more than 20 minutes late without contacting the studio counts as a no-show. An SMS waitlist fills last-minute openings.
Beyond the chair, the studio sells handmade press-on sets online from $25 each in sizes XS to XL, along with a $5 Simple Sizing Kit. Clients choose their own sizes, and improper sizing is not eligible for refunds, exchanges or replacements. Press-on orders need processing time before shipment, and shipping estimates are not guaranteed. International buyers cover customs fees, import taxes and duties. Gift cards are not available at this time.
Nail health comes first, and the services are offered for all nail bed types.
