About

MedPedicure Center works without water basins: feet are not soaked, and work is done on dry skin with sterile podology e-files. No blades are used, and calluses are reduced in thin layers with e-files and a cooling spray. Skin softening uses podology-grade creams under a sterile film. The studio describes itself as cosmetic and restorative foot care rather than medical treatment, and it states that it does not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions or diseases.

Visits are one-on-one: each specialist sees a single client per appointment slot, so walk-ins are not accepted and most slots open one to two weeks ahead. Appointments run 60 to 90 minutes, and several services can be combined in one visit with the time set at booking. Booking is done online through Acuity, 24 hours a day, or by phone. Clients are asked to bring open-back or slip-on shoes and a list of current foot medications or recent podiatrist notes. Gel polish should be removed before the visit, and removal at the studio is an extra charge.

Reusable tools go through a Class B autoclave and stay in sealed pouches until they are opened in front of the client. Files, buffers and other non-metal items are single-use and thrown away after each session wherever that is practical. According to the studio, its equipment is sterile, and its autoclaving kills 99.99% of pathogens, a figure the studio itself gives.

Clients with an open wound, signs of infection, active foot ulcers, advanced neuropathy or other active complications are referred to a podiatrist or physician first. The studio does not take medical insurance, so services are paid out of pocket. Cash, major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted, and payment is due at the end of the visit with no prepayment. Cancellations and rescheduling need 24 hours' notice; a same-day no-show incurs a 50% fee. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may shorten or reschedule the appointment. A person can book for someone else, such as a parent or partner, using that client's name and email.

The studio is about a four-minute walk from the Rockville Metro station on the Red Line. Parking is available in the Town Square Garage, which is pay-to-park with its entrance on Maryland Ave, or at metered spots on Jefferson St and Maryland Ave. The building has no elevator. The studio says it serves clients from Montgomery County, Washington DC, Howard and Frederick counties, the Baltimore area and Northern Virginia. It reports a 4.9 rating from more than 140 Google reviews and says it has restored more than 700 feet.
