MedInk by Morgan is a permanent makeup clinic at Honey Studios, off East Avenue in Rochester. Its owner, Morgan Kassel, performs every service personally.

The scalp work covers hairline creation and restoration, the appearance of density for thinning hair, and a close-cropped buzz-cut look. It can also conceal scars from hair transplantation and camouflage burns or other scalp skin conditions, using FUE and FUT scar camouflage. New scalp clients can request a free personalized quote by uploading photos of their current hairline, and a free SMP preview can be made from an uploaded selfie, returned in under 90 seconds. The one-hour consultation is complimentary and covers goals, realistic expectations, the procedure, the number of sessions and pricing. Treatment and pricing are based on the Norwood Scale and the Ludwig Scale. Most clients need 2 to 4 sessions spaced 10 to 30 days apart, and the majority complete treatment in 3. The business states that SMP can be performed on people of all skin colors and skin types.

The eyebrow menu includes microblading, a semi-permanent method that creates fine strokes resembling natural brow hair; nano brows, which fade faster, need more regular touch-ups and are generally more comfortable; and the Blade and Shade combo, which adds shade work by machine or a grouping of needles to the classic microblading strokes for a softer, makeup-like look with more depth. Eyebrow enhancements are $500 before gratuity, and aftercare products are included in that price. Touch-up is not included in the microblading price, but the annual touch-up is $300 for existing eyebrow clients, and a Perfecting Session at $75 is available as an add-on after the first brow visit. Brows take 4 to 8 weeks to fully heal, and a first touch-up is offered if the color has not held. Vegan ink is used for eyebrow services, with sterilized equipment and new needles for every session.

Clients complete consent forms before their appointment and are encouraged to bring reference photos. Before microblading, clients are asked to avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood thinners for 48 hours, have waxing or brow shaping at least 2 days ahead, and have tinting at least 1 week ahead. Cosmetic botox or fillers should be scheduled 2 weeks before or after microblading. A pigment patch test is suggested 5 to 7 days beforehand for clients with high skin sensitivity. For SMP, clients should leave their hair as they normally wear it or use a zero guard, and should not razor shave the head before the consultation. Fees may change at the practitioner's discretion, and the practice reserves the right to decline service to anyone deemed unsuitable for a procedure or for another reason.
